About This Machine

Compact take-up design
for efficient reel management

The JP-AT Series A-type Take-Up is a compact, floor-standing winding unit designed for controlled cable winding at the end of wire and cable extrusion or processing lines. The A-frame structure provides a low centre of gravity and stable bobbin support — critical for maintaining consistent layer winding and preventing reel wobble at higher line speeds.

Three models address progressively larger bobbin sizes. The JP-AT 400 is the standard production unit for smaller cables and tighter reel formats common in residential wire manufacturing. The JP-AT 500 adds higher torque capacity and a wider bobbin width range for medium-diameter cables. The JP-AT 630 is the high-capacity model with a variable-speed dancer arm tension control system and automatic traverse mechanism — suited for premium cable winding where layer consistency directly affects downstream drum packing efficiency.

Key Features

  • A-frame low-profile structure — stable bobbin support with wide stance for reduced vibration at full winding speed
  • Variable-frequency drive with dancer arm tension control — maintains constant line tension independent of bobbin diameter growth
  • Automatic traverse mechanism — consistent layer winding across the full bobbin width without manual adjustment
  • Quick-change bobbin spindle — tool-less bobbin swap minimises dead time between reels during continuous production
  • Adjustable traverse pitch — accommodates different cable diameters and winding pitch requirements without changeover parts
  • Integrated counter and footage meter — tracks cable length per bobbin and total production footage with automatic reset

Industry Applications

House Wire & Building Cable

Winding single-core and twin-core PVC-insulated house wire onto standard bobbins — consistent layer winding and tension control for neat, transport-safe reel packs.

Control & Instrumentation Cable

Precise layer winding for multi-core control cables — automatic traverse ensures uniform pitch across the full bobbin width for tight, stable drum packing.

Flexible & Rubber Cables

Low-tension winding for flexible rubber cables where excessive tension would deform soft insulation — dancer arm control maintains consistent force regardless of bobbin build-up.

Coaxial & Data Cable

High-speed winding of coaxial and LAN cables — servo traverse maintains precise pitch on precision-wound reels where layer accuracy affects insertion-loss performance.
